Lisa Fager Bediako

Lisa Fager Bediako is President and Co-Founder of Industry Ears, Inc., an advocacy/activist think tank concerned with the impact of media on children and communities of color. Ms. Bediako, an expert in social marketing, also independently consults on health and civic issues through her Free Mind Communications venture with a broad range of clients, including the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Hip Hop Voices, American Cancer Society and Def Jam Records. Bediako draws upon more than seventeen years of experiences in various marketing and public relations roles for major entertainment and radio/television broadcasting companies including Infinity Broadcasting, Capitol-EMI Records and the Discovery Channel. She has testified before the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee and the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection on the FCC's lax stance towards indecent television and radio content directed at communities of color. Ms. Bediako has also been featured as a guest in several national media outlets, including McLaughlin One-on-One, Billboard Magazine, Essence Magazine, The Crisis magazine, Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post, and New York Daily News. Ms. Bediako received her BA in English Literature at the University of Maryland, College Park and her MBA in Marketing at Johns Hopkins University.
