Conrad Tillard
Reverend Conrad Tillard is Senior Pastor of Nazarene Congregational Church, a United Church of Christ (UCC) congregation in Brooklyn, NY. A Baptist and Congregationalist (UCC) minister, he was licensed and ordained at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church of the City of New York. The former Interim Pastor of the 170-year-old Eliot Congregational Church of Roxbury, Reverend Tillard has been a minister and community activist for over 20 years. He started his career working as a National Student Coordinator in the historic 1984 presidential campaign of Reverend Jesse Jackson and later that year joined the Nation of Islam where he served as the National Youth Minister in 1989. In 1991, he was installed as Presiding Minister of the Nation of Islam's legendary Mosque #7 in Harlem where he served for seven years. Tillard is founder of Movement for CHANGE and has served as Project Director for New Yorkers for the Gulf Coast (NY4GC), an organization uniting leaders to provide support to victims of Hurricane Katrina. He holds a Masters degree in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, a Masters in Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, and is the author of the forthcoming The Prodigal Son Imperative: In My Father's House.
